Amy Babinec’s drawings and paintings focus on lost memory, trauma, and DIY archaeology. An upbringing in the coal country of Illinois has informed her recent practice of documenting abandoned mines. She currently teaches at colleges in the Chicago area and is an artist-educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
