“Night At The Museum” History Lecture: Paul Fridlund presents his research and photos on the Roslyn Mine Explosions

Promoting an understanding of the influence of mining on our upper county communities is the focus of this year’s Night at the Museum lecture series hosted by the Northern Kittitas County Historical Society.

On October 3 – the 110th anniversary of the 1909 Roslyn mine explosion – journalist Paul Fridlund will talk about this and other Roslyn mine explosions that occurred. Fridlund has been busy updating and adding to his book The Tragedy of May 10th, 1892, which he wrote on the mine explosion at No. 1 Mine in Roslyn. He’s added 80 new pages of information and photos and hopes to have the updated edition available by the time of his presentation. All sales of the book benefit the Roslyn-Ronald-Cle Elum Heritage Club.
