“Night At The Museum” History Lecture: Sue Litchfield & Lynda Solter present “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly: The Tumultuous Years of Upper County Hard Rock Mining”

Promoting an understanding of the influence of mining on our upper county communities is the focus of this year’s Night at the Museum lecture series hosted by the Northern Kittitas County Historical Society.

On September 19, Sue Litchfield and Lynda Solter present The Good, The Bad & The Ugly: The Tumultuous Years of Upper County Hard Rock Mining. Coal did become king, but it may surprise some to learn that in the early years many believed gold, silver, copper and especially iron ore might vie for the title. At times the search for those other minerals was intense enough to lead to murder and mayhem. Litchfield and Solter are Roslyn Museum docents and spend their free time researching Roslyn history.
